Asquith Supplies are looking to recruit an operating support administration apprentice to join their team.

The Apprentice’s Role

The successful candidate will be involved in a majority of duties such as assisting to make sure that the general office runs smoothly and efficiently. You will carry out a variety of duties such as covering reception, answering the telephone and fielding to the appropriate person or department. You will also be responsible for producing artwork, setting up product files ready for production and account manager support.

You will also be involved in processing orders and CRM inputting.

You will be supporting the purchasing department with the tasks of product sourcing, tracking production of goods, tracking incoming shipments, handling the despatching of goods, small quantity production manufacturing, ordering and signing off production to various factories and QC of samples and production.
You will be trained on how to do all of the above and below once the job begins.

You will also be required to provide marketing support by supporting the marketing department, designing marketing material and following and tracking marketing programmes.

Working Hours: You will be working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Wages: £160.00 per week, based on a 40 hour week. Any overtime above the 40 hours per week, will be paid at the appropriate national minimum wage depending on age.

Holiday: 28 days holiday entitlement, including bank holidays, will be paid each year, during the course of your apprenticeship.

Past Apprentices

This is the first time the company have invested in the apprenticeship programme.

Through having completed your level 2 you will have gained the skills in cusiness administration that you can use to maximise your future career. Once having completed your level 2 qualification, you will have the opportunity to work towards an advanced level 3 and 4.

Skills Required

You will need to be able to work on your own initiative, have a professional working ethic and be able to multi-task. You must also have excellent attention to detail and have a creative flair as you will be involved in producing artwork.

Personal Qualities

You will be polite, reliable and hardworking, confident and a strong team player.

Prior Qualifications

Ideally A-C Grade or equivalent would be preferred.

The Apprenticeship in Business Administration consists of:

  • Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Business Administration (QCF)
  • Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT (Level 1)
  • Health and Safety Certificate
  • Emergency First Aid

Most aspects of your training will be delivered on site by the employer, where you will gain all the skills, knowledge and experience to assist you in this role. Your duties will vary from day to day, and throughout your on site learning process you will work closely with experienced members of staff.

You will have regular visits every six to eight weeks from your designated assessor, who will help you and monitor your progress throughout your apprenticeship programme.
