This is an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to join Classic Builders in Plymouth working as a Business Administration Assistant.
The Apprentice’s Role
The successful candidate will be working as part of a team providing reception, centralised administrative/clerical support to the Directors, Contracts Managers, Estimators, Office Manager and Accounts Department as required. Your primary duties and responsibilities will include assisting with providing professional reception service to clients and visitors, receiving and transferring incoming calls , accepting and recording enquiries accurately and relaying the information to the appropriate person/department. You will be sorting and distributing incoming/outgoing post and assist with photocopying and distribution of information as required.
You will in charge of entering and updating projects and client details on a computerised system and updating project job list including Site Manager / Contract Manager’s details. You must provide office / administrative support to all departments as and when required and order and maintain stationary and office supplies.
Working Hours: You are required to work 40 hours per week hours of Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm.
Wages: £140.00 per week, based on a 40 hour week. Any overtime above the 40 hours per week, will be paid at the appropriate national minimum wage depending on age.
Holiday: 28 days holiday entitlement (including bank holidays) will be paid each year, during the course of your apprenticeship.

Through having completed the level 2 qualification in business administration, you will then have the opportunity to progress onto the advanced level 3 apprenticeship.
You will need to be able to work efficiently and work well on your own and in a team with initiative. You must be able to follow instructions, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a pressurised environment.
You will need excellent communication skills and be able to communicate clearly with customers, visitors and staff face-to-face and over the telephone.
Qualifications required for this role, include GCSE grades A-C in Maths and English or equivalent.

All aspects of your training will be delivered on-site by the employer, where you will gain all the skills, knowledge and experience to assist you in this role. Your duties will vary from day to day, and throughout your on-site learning process you will work closely with experienced members of staff.
You will have regular visits every six to eight weeks from your designated assessor, who will help you and monitor your progress throughout your apprenticeship programme.
