An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to support an expanding business in Lee Mill with their administration and customer support.

The Apprentice’s Role

This is such a varied role, with the opportunity to be trained up in all aspects of business administration. You will undertake a number of duties, including reception, dealing with the incoming calls as they come in and directing them accordingly. You will be fully supported by a team of dedicated skilled colleagues who will help you throughout your training.

You will be trained in all administrative aspects of the business and once you have gained the training and are confident, you will be able to deal with the issues independently. You will be order processing, dealing with lead times and conveying them to the relevant departments/ customers.

You will also be liaising with the planning and sales production team, dealing with incoming orders and general queries and finally you will also be managing deliveries and working with the couriers, ensuring the correct products are being collected and delivered to the customers within set time scales.

Working Hours: You will be working 40 hours per week between the hours of 9am and 6pm.

Wages: £140.00 per week, based on a 40 hour week. Any overtime above the 40 hours per week, will be paid at the appropriate national minimum wage depending on age.

Holiday: 28 days holiday entitlement, including bank holidays, will be paid each year, during the course of your apprenticeship.

Cut Plastic Sheeting Ltd was created from the growing market demand for bespoke cut panels. Since their establishment they have grown rapidly and become one of the leading suppliers, offering impressive lead times, quality manufacturing and outstanding customer service.

Whatever the demands or complexities of the design, their systems are always flexible enough to cope. Whether it is a prototype or a production run, each item receives the same meticulous attention because ultimately, quality reflects the prestige of the merchandise.

They employ the very best skills and technologies into their manufacturing environment. All designs are created in a Computer Aided Design facility (CAD) and seamlessly converted via a CAD CAM format for machining on the latest Laser and CNC technology. All designs and products are stored electronically for future reference by their clients.

They have the facilities in-house to cut almost any sheet product, from diamond polished acrylics, to aluminium composite panels.

Past Apprentices

This is the first time Cut Plastic Sheeting have invested in the apprenticeship programme.

There will be the opportunity to progress onto a level 3 qualification and ultimately onto a permanent position within the business.

Skills Required

The post will require you to have maturity when handling confidential data and have excellent attention to detail. You will have good verbal and written communication skills, knowledge and confidence in using a variety of IT applications; Effective keyboard skills; Confidence in using the telephone; The ability to effectively prioritise workload and work to deadlines; Excellent organisational skills.

Personal Qualities

You will be hard working, reliable and have a good attention to detail. You will be organised and have the ability to use your own initiative.

Prior Qualifications

GCSE grades A-E is desired.

The Apprenticeship in Business Administration consists of:

  • Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Business Administration
  • Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT
  • Health and Safety Certificate
  • Emergency First Aid

Most aspects of your training will be delivered on-site by the employer, where you will gain all the skills, knowledge and experience to assist you in this role. Your duties will vary from day to day, and throughout your on-site learning process you will work closely with experienced members of staff.

You will have regular visits every six to eight weeks from your designated assessor, who will help you and monitor your progress throughout your apprenticeship programme.
