Prince Rock Primary School are looking to appoint a business administration apprentice to join the school.

The Apprentice’s Role

You will primarily be working on reception, answering the telephone, dealing with face to face enquiries and signing in visitors, ensuring they have the appropriate ID to enter the
school premises. You will also be responsible for general administration tasks, photocopying, filing, laminating and ordering stationery and stock. Part of your role will also include taking minutes and typing up notes.

It is essential you can follow procedures relating to Child Protection, health and safety, security, confidentiality and data protection. Full training will be given.

Working Hours: The required working hours will be 30-40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, generally working 9am to 3.30pm.

Wages: £140.00 per week, based on a 40 hour week. Any additional hours worked over 40 hours per week will be paid at the National Minimum Wage depending on age.

Holiday: 28 days holiday entitlement (including bank holidays) will be paid each year, during the course of your apprenticeship.

Past Apprentices

Price Rock Primary School has supported apprentices previously and currently has one working within the school.

After successful completion of your level 2 apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to progress onto your level 3 qualification and gain full-time employment with the school.

Skills Required

The successful candidate will have good knowledge of ICT, organisational skills and good written and oral communication skills. You will be motivated, personable and approachable. You will also have the ability to establish good working relationships with staff.

Personal Qualities

You will have excellent timekeeping skills and the ability to communicate at all levels. You will work well within a part of a team and must also be able to keep calm under pressure.

Prior Qualifications

GCSE Maths and English A-C is required.

The Apprenticeship in Business Administration consists of:

  • Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Business Administration
  • Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT
  • Health and Safety Certificate
  • Emergency First Aid

Most aspects of your training will be delivered on-site by the employer, where you will gain all the skills, knowledge and experience to assist you in this role. Your duties will vary from day to day, and throughout your on-site learning process you will work closely with experienced members of staff.

You will have regular visits every six to eight weeks from your designated assessor, who will help you and monitor your progress throughout your apprenticeship programme.
