Succession Group are looking to take on a Locality Assistant to join their team in Truro.

The Apprentice’s Role

The successful apprentice will be involved in a variety of duties which will include meeting and greeting clients and visitors, answering the telephone and redirecting callers to the appropriate recipient. You will also be managing meeting room bookings and providing support to meetings.

Along with this you will collect, open and distribute post, maintain and manage stocks of core stationery items and collate group wide orders for branded stationery. You will be maintaining email distribution lists, whilst ensuring that all telephone and email directories are up to date. In addition, you will be liaising with site reps, for the collation, submission and approval of routine orders for stationery and general office supplies. You will maintain site and group Health and Safety records including collation of training, accident reports, DSE assessments, PAT testing, fire safety assessments etc.

You will also provide administration support to the head of facilities.

Working Hours: You will be working 08.30 – 17.00, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.

Wages: £148.00 per week, based on a 40 hour week. Any hours worked above 40 hours per week will be paid at the appropriate national minimum wage, depending on age.

Holiday: You will be entitled to 28 days holiday, including bank holidays, will be paid each year, during the course of your apprenticeship.

Skills Required

In order to be successful you will have excellent telecommunications skills. You must be able to demonstrate a genuine desire and consistent aim to identify and meet the expectations of the customer.

You must be able to demonstrate the ability to effectively organise own work activities, time and workload on a day to day basis.

Personal Qualities

You must have a flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to prioritise effectively and be able to multi task if necessary. The apprentice must have excellent attention to detail and the ability to self manage and take ownership for your own workload.

Prior Qualifications

GCSE Maths and English at Grade A* – C are preferable. ICT Skills would also be an advantage.

The Apprenticeship in Business Administration consists of:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration
  • Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT
  • Health and Safety Certificate
  • Emergency First Aid

Most aspects of your training will be delivered on-site by the employer, where you will gain all the skills, knowledge and experience to assist you in this role. Your duties will vary from day to day, and throughout your on-site learning process you will work closely with experienced members of staff.

You will have regular visits every six to eight weeks from your designated assessor, who will help you and monitor your progress throughout your apprenticeship programme.
