KBB Developments are looking to take on a carpentry apprentice to join their team, based in Plymstock.
The Apprentice’s Role
The successful candidate will be working on big projects such as kitchens, work surfaces and glass splashbacks. The employer is looking for a learner who is driven, enthusiastic and hard working who would like to start their career in carpentry.
You will learn all aspects of carpentry and joinery as well as building and construction work. You will be expected to be willing to learn and take direction well and have good attention to detail. During your time as an apprentice you will learn other aspects of the building and construction trade to enhance and develop your knowledge.
Working Hours: The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm.
Wages: £140.00 per week, based on a 40 hour week. Any overtime above the 40 hours per week, will be paid at the appropriate national minimum wage depending on age.
Holiday: 28 days holiday entitlement (including bank holidays) will be paid each year, during the course of your apprenticeship.

The employer has had apprentices in the past and is now looking to take on two local apprentices to give them the opportunity to start an NVQ level 2 in Wood Occupations with the company.
The employer is looking for two apprentices who they can train in carpentry and help them achieve the NVQ Level 2 in Wood Occupation (Site) and progress on to the NVQ Level 3 in Wood Occupation (Site) qualification.
The ideal candidate will have good timekeeping skills, an ability to improve hand skills, show motivation and be enthusiastic.
You will be drive, motivated, reliable and hard working. In addition, you will be willing to listen and follow instructions.
GCSE grades A-E is desired.

Whilst at our training centre you will learn the skills and gain experience that will help you throughout your role. Part of your training will be knowledge and theory based, whilst the remainder will be practical.
As part of attending Skills Group for your apprenticeship we will also arrange for you to work towards achieving your CSCS on-line test giving you the opportunity to apply for your CSCS Card. This confirms that individuals working in the building environment have the necessary competence, to carry out site work with the employer.
In addition to your training, Skills Group will give you the opportunity to achieve your Emergency First Aid and Health and Safety certificates, along with Internet Safety and Safeguarding.
