Jordon Pryke, G D Andrew

As I wanted to do carpentry after leaving school I knew I would become an apprentice, and signed up with college. Unfortunately I broke my wrist and had to drop out as I was getting too far behind. I then applied for a job with G D Andrews, a local construction company, who took me on as a carpentry apprentice.

I finished my Level 2 apprenticeship quite quickly and I’m now doing my Level 3. I believe I’m getting much more out of learning on the job than being in a classroom – and I’m earning!

When I’ve finished and got some more experience under my belt I’d like to travel to Australia with my trade, and work towards becoming a site manager.
