A local fenestration company are looking to employ an apprentice to work as a Window Installer.
The Apprentice’s Role
You will be given a variety of daily duties and will learn about different tools and equipment. The successful candidate will use a variety of specialist tools to undertake all the projects for this position including manual and power tools. You will need to have a high level of fitness and stamina as this role does involve heavy manual lifting. In addition, the apprentice will accompany members of the team out on-site and learn about the installation and fitting side of the business.
As you gain experience and show willing, you will be involved more and more throughout the installation process to become the best installer you can be. You will need to adhere to the company’s policy on health and safety at all times and be responsible for your safety and others around you.
Working Hours: The required hours will be Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with possible early starts. This may vary slightly depending on workload and travel time.
Wages: £140.00 per week. Any overtime above the 40 hours per week, will be paid at the appropriate national minimum wage depending on age.
Holiday: 28 days holiday entitlement (including bank holidays) will be paid each year, during the course of your apprenticeship.

The company have a history of employing apprentices and on successful completion of the apprenticeship are progressed onto long term contracts. This is an exciting opportunity for the ideal candidate to join their expanding team.
On successful completion of your level 2 qualification you will have the option to obtain a level 3 qualification with the full support of your employer with a full time job after you complete your training. The company are making a long term commitment to the right individual.
You will need to have good communication skills as you will be dealing with a wide range of customers. The successful candidate must possess a degree of common sense and be able to use their own initiative.
The successful candidate will need to be enthusiastic, have the right attitude and be hard working. You should also be confident and well presented.
Qualifications required for this role include GCSE’s grades A-E in Maths and English, or equivalent qualifications
The Apprenticeship in Fenestration consists of:
Most aspects of your training will be delivered on-site with the employer, and you will have regular site visits every six to eight weeks from your designated assessor, who will monitor your progress throughout your apprenticeship programme.
Skills Group will also support you to achieve Emergency First Aid and a Health and Safety Certificate, along with Internet Safety and Safeguarding.
You will also be supported by Skills Group to complete your CSCS online test, to achieve your CSCS Card which enables you to carry out site work, if required.
