You: Register your interest in being an apprentice with Skills Group.
Skills Group: A Career Advisor will contact you to talk through your application and invite you to an informal interview.
You: At the interview you will be given advice and guidance about your options and discuss your career aspirations.
Skills Group: The Career Advisor will discuss current vacancies that may be of interest and put you forward for an interview with an employer, or offer you a place on our full-time learn2work programme.
You: Once you have been offered and accepted an apprenticeship, you will be employed by your new employer.
Skills Group: The Career Advisor will continue to oversee your progress and provide support to you and your employer throughout your apprenticeship.
You will have a dedicated Career Advisor to support you throughout your time with Skills Group, providing you with impartial advice and guidance. They liaise with your employer and Skills Group trainers to ensure you are on track with your learning plans, and achieve to the best of your ability.

If you do not have GCSE grade C or above in Maths and/or English, Skills Group will support you to achieve equivalent Functional Skills qualifications alongside your apprenticeship. Functional Skills are the practical application of Maths and English relevant to your chosen trade.
If you have any additional learning support needs, for example dyslexia, this should be discussed with your Career Advisor at the earliest opportunity. This will ensure that Skills Group is able to put into place any additional arrangements to help you achieve your apprenticeship.
