Absolute Hair and Beauty are looking to recruit a level 3 hairdressing apprentice to join their busy salon.
The Apprentice’s Role
The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of duties, which are likely to include blowdrying, booking appointments, shampooing, conditioning, drying and styling hair. As you will have already have gained these skills you will move onto the more advanced aspects of hairdressing, mixing and applying hair colouring.
You will study hairdressing topics such as hair and skin testing, the effects of chemicals on hair and skin and the principles of hair colour selection. There is also the option to learn about promoting products, perming, and working with different hair types.
Working Hours: You will be working 40 hours per week, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 9am – 6pm, Thursday 9am – 9pm, and Saturday 9am – 4pm.
Wages: £140.00 per week, based on a 40 hour week. Any overtime above the 40 hours per week, will be paid at the appropriate national minimum wage depending on age.
Holiday: 28 days holiday entitlement (including bank holidays) will be paid each year, during the course of your apprenticeship.

After successful completetion of your level three qualification, you will have the opportunity to gain full-time employment.
The ideal candidate must be friendly and approachable, will have excellent communication skills, be able to work well in a team, and to be able to portray a positive friendly attitude to customers at all times.
The successful candidate will need to be enthusiastic about training, have a creative flair and a genuine passion for the hairdressing industry. Building good relationships with clients is a vital part of a successful salon so excellent interpersonal skills are required.
Excellent communication, high standards of hygiene and appearance and a keen team player are essential for any salon apprentice, and you will learn how to demonstrate this consistently to ensure that you promote a positive image at all times.
Level 2 Hairdressing qualifications are required, and passion for Hairdressing and a willingness to learn.

Most aspects of the qualification will be delivered on-site and you will have regular visits every 2 to 4 weeks from your designated assessor from Skills Group, who will monitor your progression throughout your apprenticeship.
As an additional qualification Skills Group will help you achieve your Emergency First Aid and certified Health and Safety Certificate, along with Internet Safety and Safeguarding.
