Cox and Co Salon are looking to recruit a hairdressing apprentice to join their skilled team of stylists.
The Apprentice’s Role
The successful candidate will begin with tasks such as blow-drying, booking appointments, shampooing and conditioning. You will gradually progress onto styling hair and mixing and applying hair colouring.
You will study hairdressing topics such as hair and skin testing, the effects of chemicals on hair and skin, and the principles of hair colour selection. There is also the option to learn about promoting products, perming, and working with different hair types.
Working Hours: The working hours will be 40 hours per week, over 5 days. Shifts will be arranged at the start of apprenticeship.
Wages: The wage will be £140.00 per week, based on a 40 hour week. Any overtime above 40 hours per week, will be paid at the appropriate national minimum wage depending on age.
*Holiday:*28 days holiday entitlement, including bank holidays, will be paid each year, during the course of your apprenticeship.

This is the first time Cox & Co have taken on an apprentice through Skills Group.
After successful completion of your level 2 apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to progress onto the level 3 qualification in hairdressing.
The ideal candidate must be friendly and approachable, will have excellent communication skills, be able to work well in a team and to be able to portray a positive friendly attitude to customers at all times.
Candidates will need to be enthusiastic about training, have a creative flair and a genuine passion for the Hairdressing industry. Building good relationships with clients is a vital part of a successful salon so excellent interpersonal skills are required.
Excellent communication, high standards of hygiene and appearance and a keen team player are essential for any salon apprentice, and you will learn how to demonstrate this consistently to ensure that you promote a positive image at all times.
No prior qualifications or experience is required as full training will be provided.

Most aspects of the qualification will be delivered on-site and you will have regular visits every 2 to 4 weeks from your designated assessor from Skills Group, who will monitor your progression throughout your apprenticeship.
As an additional qualification Skills Group will help you achieve your Emergency First Aid and Health and Safety Certificate, along with Internet Safety and Safeguarding.
