Mannamead Hair Care & Beauty are looking to take on a hairdressing apprentice to join their team in Plymouth.
The Apprentice’s Role
Duties are likely to include meeting and greeting clients, shampooing, removing colour, conditioning, drying and styling hair. You will benefit from on and off the job training and you will learn hairdressing skills that you will be able to put into practice. This will help to build your confidence to use your imagination when creating hairdressing masterpieces.
You will be assisting stylists in ensuring that all clients are given the highest levels of customer service with special attention to comfort and friendliness. You will also generate and promote a professional working atmosphere and assist stylists in advising clients in all aspects of services available, including advising clients of all products, tools and equipment available for retail purchase.
Working Hours: The salon offers hairdressing services 6 days a week, therefore you will be required to work Monday to Saturday, with one day off in the week. Your working hours will be 9am – 5pm.
Wages: £140.00 per week, based on a 40 hour week. Any overtime above the 40 hours per week, will be paid at the appropriate national minimum wage depending on age.
Holiday: 28 days holiday entitlement (including bank holidays) will be paid each year, during the course of your apprenticeship.

Mannamead Hair Care & Beauty are a local Plymouth hair salon. They have been established for over 25 years and have 16 stylists from the well trained youngsters to those who have been stylists for over 20 years. We feel that we really can offer something that is right for the look that their customers want.
This employer has previously taken on apprentices with Skills Group, and are excited to welcome another.
Once having completed your Level 2 qualification, you will have the opportunity to progress onto a Level 3 apprenticeship.
The successful apprentice will be enthusiastic about training, have a creative flair and a good attention to detail. You must have a genuine passion for the Hairdressing industry. Good communications skills are essential as you will be dealing with colleagues and customers on a daily basis. Building good relationships with clients is a vital part of a successful salon so excellent interpersonal skills are required.
You must have a friendly, bubbly personality. A willingness to succeed in the industry is important for the role.

The Apprenticeship in Hairdressing includes:
Most aspects of the qualification will be delivered on-site and you will have regular visits every 2 to 4 weeks from your designated assessor from Skills Group, who will monitor your progression throughout your apprenticeship.
As an additional qualification Skills Group will help you achieve your Emergency First Aid and certified Health and Safety Certificate, along with Internet Safety and Safeguarding.
