Space Hair & Beauty are looking to take on a hairdressing apprentice to join their busy team.
The Apprentice’s Role
Your duties will include meeting and greeting clients, scheduling salon appointments and dealing with telephone enquiries. You will also be carrying out shampooing and conditioning services for clients, and will be trained to mix and apply colour treatments under supervision. Along with this, you will learn how to cut hair using a variety of techniques so that you can personalise your skills to meet the need of your clients, as well as enhancing haircuts and styles through the effect and creative use of colour.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who really wants to succeed in the hairdressing industry.
Working Hours: You will be working Monday to Saturday (5 days), 40 hours per week.
Wages: £140.00 per week, based on a 40 hour week. Any overtime above the 40 hours per week, will be paid at the appropriate national minimum wage depending on age.
Holiday: 28 days holiday entitlement (including bank holidays) will be paid each year, during the course of your apprenticeship.
Space Hair & Beauty is a well established boutique salon centrally located besides the historic Exeter Cathedral stocking world-class Aveda products. The salon offers hair and beauty services set over three levels in a beautiful fifteenth century workshop.

The salon currently has two apprentices working towards level 2 and level 3 qualifications in the salon.
The salon has a well established friendly team of stylists. After successfully completing your level 2 qualification, you will have the opportunity to progress onto a level 3 apprenticeship.
The successful candidate will have a real passion for the industry with a strong desire to develop their skills further whilst having the ability to provide excellent customer service.
The ideal candidate will be reliable, passionate, self-motivated and personable.
Qualifications desirable for this role include A-E in English and Maths or the equivalent such as functional skills, but these are not essential.

Most aspects of the qualification will be delivered on-site and you will have regular visits every 2 to 4 weeks from your designated assessor from Skills Group, who will monitor your progression throughout your apprenticeship.
As an additional qualification Skills Group will help you achieve your Emergency First Aid and certified Health and Safety Certificate, along with Internet Safety and Safeguarding.
